MEND.lab provides a set of complementary services supporting medical device development across different stages and needs, bringing together clinicians, researchers, engineers, and industry partners through design, engineering, and research-driven development. The services can be combined or accessed individually: some teams engage early to explore a clinical need or concept, others later to develop, test, or prepare a device for further development.

Infrastructure & facilities

MEND.lab coordinates access to prototyping, fabrication, and testing infrastructure distributed across Ghent University, including workshops, imaging, testing, and assembly facilities, rather than operating from a single space. This allows projects to draw flexibly on the right tools and expertise at each stage, from concept to prototype.
